The Idea

It all started thirty years ago on a crisp fall day, as I raked leaves alongside my husband. A spark of inspiration struck me — what if there was a better tool to scoop them up? When I shared my vision with him, he gently reminded me of the challenges ahead: my limited English and our modest budget. With a heavy heart, I agreed he was probably right.

For years, I quietly held onto that dream. Then everything changed when I met my coworker, Manuel. One afternoon, he sat down beside me and said something I'll never forget: "Muoi, you are a very smart woman — if you have an idea, I can help you."

Those words reignited a fire in me. I was so excited I couldn't sleep! I was determined to pursue a patent, but my English was still a barrier, so I reached out to three inventor's companies instead. Over the next two years, I faced obstacle after obstacle — but I never gave up. And in the end, I officially received my patent.
